In December of 2021, while I was visiting my siblings in Texas Clayton text me asking what I wanted for Christmas. I half jokingly replied “💍”. He never responded. Fast forward to the day after I came home from Texas. We were getting ready to leave the house and Clayton mentioned that Dillon and I should add the figurine to the advent calendar. I have this wooden tree advent calendar from my childhood that has now become a tradition in our home. Each day has a tiny drawer containing a small figurine that you put on the mini tree leading up to Christmas morning. When I opened the drawer I saw what I thought was another broken figurine but upon further inspection it was a beautiful ENGAGEMENT RING! When I tuned around he was down on one knee with Rowen sitting on his lap. He asked me to marry him and of course I immediately said yes (only waited nearly a decade for this moment lol). We are so excited to get married soon!
