Fun for kids and adults alike! Nikki and Russ had one of their very first dates here... oh and it's where Russ popped the question :). See if you can find the heartbeat machine on the first floor. Maybe it’s back in commission after Nikki's heart rate broke it during the proposal!
Cityscape is the central hub of downtown Phoenix, offering dining, nightlife, shopping, entertainment, and community events. Whether you need to pop into CVS to grab that forgotten item, want to take in city views at the rooftop pool deck of the Hotel Palomar, or linger over a cocktail at the Blue Hound, Cityscape will keep you busy.
If you don’t spend much time in the desert (or if you’re a botanical enthusiast like Nikki), spend an afternoon at the Desert Botanical Garden wandering amongst the local flora and fauna. It will be in full bloom during the wedding weekend!
Great for kids and adults alike, the Phoenix Zoo is a treasure. The wedding weekend will be a great time to visit thanks to the beautiful weather!
Nikki's favorite restaurant in Phoenix, which has become a favorite of the Berens and Clinch families as well. Enjoy Italian-style wood-fired pizza, handmade pasta, beautiful salads, and a lush, relaxing patio - or dine inside the restored 1913 bungalow. Nikki recommends grabbing a shot of Limoncello to pair with your Prosecco the way the Italians do. Cheers!
Russ' favorite restaurant, where he took Nikki on their first date (at the Tempe location)! This downtown location features three stories packed with historic treasures, like church pews turned into dining booths, as well as pool tables and darts. Located just down the street from the hotel (walking distance), we recommend this spot for dinner or just to drink and play. If you’ve never had a pasty, you must check this out before leaving Phoenix. Russ recommends the Oggie or the Royale with Cheese - both pair wonderfully with a Guinness.
The absolute best sushi in Phoenix, and moments away from all wedding events! Try the "Oh My God" roll - it's the only way to understand how it got its name.
One of Phoenix’s oldest haunts, Seamus is a well-loved divey Irish pub. Great place to grab a pint and laugh with friends.
If you can find it, we recommend a dive into one of Phoenix’s first modern speakeasies. Crammed with Phoenix history and lots to look at, this one won’t soon be forgotten.
Games, drinks, more games and more drinks. Cobra Arcade is a favorite date night spot of Nikki’s and Russ’.
One of Nikki’s and Russ’ favorite little neighborhood spots, which they visited several times a week when they lived down the street! Set in a historic building, Oven + Vine is simple, charming, and warm. Ask for Austin if you visit!
BEST burritos in Phoenix - seriously, don’t go anywhere else. Get yours enchilada style and you won't regret it. We also recommend the pit-smoked margarita. If you’re grabbing grub on the go, Rito’s also hosts a walk-up restaurant in downtown Phoenix, closer to the hotel.
If you find yourself in Tempe, lose some time at Social Hall. This locally owned bar and restaurant features a historic indoor space, pub-style games, a large patio with fire pits, and fun signature cocktails. The food and drinks are outstanding, and the good vibes are free!
Bikram Yoga, HIIT, and Barre classes at a special local place. The Foundry was Phoenix’s very first Bikram yoga studio - not to mention, Nikki’s favorite.
Phoenix is a hub for golf! Try out some of Russ' favorite courses while you're here: Encanto 9 Golf Course Arizona Biltmore Golf Club The Legacy Golf Club Grand Canyon University Golf Course Papago Public Golf Course
Enjoy peak hiking season while you're in Phoenix! Nikki and Russ love the following trails: Camelback Mountain Piestewa Peak North Mountain South Mountain
