Bride
This wanderlust Guyanese Princess is full of energy and life. Moving from NY, to NC, to VA, to SC to TX she leaps before she thinks but always lands on her feet. She is excited to continue her life of travel and exploring with her ever growing family.
Groom
Are we talking health - well look no further than this eccentric well versed man. Life is but a journey and he is pushing his way thru it while dishing doses of ancient knowledge to better himself, his people but most importantly his family.
Maid of Honor
It’s not every day the universe blesses you with a friend you can call sister. From 2007 to forever (because I am not letting you go) she has been by my side for smiles, tears and adventure. There is no one stronger, sweeter and with enough Jersey swag that I would want supporting me on this big day.
Best Man
True definition of "brother from another mother." Friends since the 3rd grade, so the history speaks for itself. I don't know anyone more loyal than Trey and I know some pretty loyal people. More than just a best men, but a best friend. Someone who's always been in my corner to make me feel more confident about anything. He's the reason I thought I was the fat Allen Iverson for about 2 years of my high school life lol. He made me feel like I could do all the thin activities lol.
Matron of Honor
Thank you Delta! T’Kiah is my Chi-Town dime and who I happily give the title to as my first SC friend. I absolutely love that our friendship has finally come full circle. Fun fact she met her Omega man because of me (turning up at SC State homecoming) and I met my Omega man because of her (because the bruhz were having a cookout and who doesn’t love free food). Who says 2 fire signs cant get along!
Groomsman
The very first time I met Jeff was freshman year at SC State in Bethea Hall. One of the first things he asked me was, am I going to pledge and what was I going to pledge. I told him I was going to be a Que Dawg and I swear he became overly excited and this complete stranger gave me a hug.....and that was the beginning of a life long friendship.
Bridesman
Everyone needs a bestie that will tell it how it is and if you know Greg you know he is the one and definitely not the two. I can always rely on him to give me truth and honesty even when I don’t want to hear it and that is my all time favorite feature of his.
Groomsman
A far as titles go Sean is my oldest nephew, but as far as a relationship goes I consider him more like my younger brother. Growing up I was like a uncle brother and our bond continued to develop. I'm not saying I'm the reason, but I went to SC State and became a Civil Engineer and "coincidently" he did the exact same thing. Not trying to connect any dots or nothing. I just thought that would be important to mention is all.
Bridesmaid
I joined Delta looking for true sisterhood and My Girlfriend Shan truly brings that sentiment to life. She has always pushed me to be more than I think I am and supported me in all of my moves and rash decisions. Big ups to my soul hearted sistah!
Groomsman
Biggest Jordan sneaker head and one of the funniest people I know. Most people like a fresh pair of J's because of Michael Jordan, but I wanted J's cause because my big brother had them. Even to this day I make sure my shoes are on point when I'm around him. Now that I think about it, he's the reason I have this sneaker problem right now lol.
Bridesman
Have you ever started off hating someone then they turn into your best friend. Well yup that is Marcus and I. One of the only friends I have pre college (I’m talking middle school)! Our friendship has rode some waves but we always end up right where we need to - by each others side. Marcus is the definition of loyal and has a heart that gives more than he should. I’m so happy to have him by my side on this day.
Groomsman
Me and Marcus aka Jerome became friends in Middle School just because at one point we were the only people at school with these silver Stephon Marbury And 1 sneakers. Marcus is that friend who acts like gas doesn't exist and is always ready to road trip anywhere. He use to travel to Orangeburg from Greensboro on weekends so much that people literally didn't know he went to NC A&T. I appreciate getting those sneakers in middle school, most beneficial shoes I ever had.
Bridesmaid
We all have that 1 cousin who we treat just like a sibling and Tai Boogy is definitely that. Sister-Cousin as I like to call her. Full of life with a “I’ma do what I want” attitude that I like to say she got from me. Tai is the little sister I always wanted and got.
Groomsman
1985, April babies, first cousins, similar interests, and lets not forget Cowboys nation. Its so easy to see why he's my closest cousin. Enough said.
Bridesmaid
If there ever was a Queen of black and white it would be my light bright LS Chenay. Thank goodness for Newcomb and their amazing nachos because if not for them I would have never met this dancing beauty.
Groomsman
I call him Eddie Spaghetti cause he has the sauce.....I still don't have a real meaning behind that but it stuck lol. Some friendships develop later in life, but feels like it's been life long. This is definitely one.
Bridesmaid
Delta really blessed me with this one. My LS is thoughtful, caring and genuine but most importantly she is down to earth and always brings the chill vibe. And don’t forget to brush up on your history before talking to this historian.
Groomsman
Butchie is another friend who ain't scared to burn the road up and just lamp. I feel like I've seen Butchie more in Texas than in South Carolina. Nothing has to be going on, but he's still going to visit and be absolutely ok with doing nothing. From Orangeburg to Columbia to Charleston to Houston, Butchie has always made his way to visit and chop it up.
Bridesmaid
How did you meet your best friend? Well circa 07/08 I booty bumped into mine while TI’s Swing Ya Rag bumped on the speaker in the SAB. My Main Squeeze and I have been dancing ever since.
Groomsman
If there was anything that would happen to two people whether good, bad, or just plain crazy..... better believe it was going to happen to me and Tron aka Brian McKnight (he's going to get me for this one lol). We knew each other since freshman year, but pledging together brought us closer. I don't know how, but interesting situations always seemed to find its way to me and Bobby Brown and all we would do is just laugh and blame each other. All I know is when me and Mike Vick are together we're going to have some great laughs.
Bridesman
John Legend…oops I mean my cousin Dre is one of the most motivated people I know. I see it, I want it, I go get it is his motto and it hasn’t failed him yet. He is a father, a husband, a CEO but he was MY little cousin first.
Groomsman
Since meeting freshman year, we've been rocking with one another ever since. Always bringing good energy into any room he walks into. I honestly can't even think of one single moment where I've ever seen Quinn angry. He's definitely one of the most laid back individuals I've ever known.
Bridesmaid
UVA for the win yet again! Everyone needs at least 1 friend that has the same movie and tv show taste as you. There is no one better to binge watch Harry Potter with or that you can always count on to watch the theatre premiere of Twilight. And last but not least I have yet to go to a Rihanna concert without her! Everyone needs a friend like that and I’m happy she is mine.
Groomsman
If I have to be honest, I don't know when and how me and Ron became so close. Seems like it just happen out of thin air, but I glad it happen. "Blood makes you related, but loyalty makes you family," is a perfect saying to describe our relationship.
Bridesmaid
My first day of middle school I wear my first pair of Jordan's, they were navy blue and black 13's to be exact. You couldn't tell me nothing and it was all because my sister got them for me. At that moment I realized two things......1) Toya could afford to buy me expensive Jordans. 2)Toya was an engineer. So that meant if I wanted to buy myself expensive Jordans then I needed to become an engineer. It all made so much sense. Moral of the story, an amazing sister and a fresh pair of J's can be extremely motivational for your life goals. I appreciate you Toya, lol. They say the people in your wedding party should be the ones that will support you throughout your marriage; well Toya got a jump start on everyone because she has supported us even before our marriage. Reliable, dependable, best Titi ever doesn’t even begin to describe the woman she is. Our relationship has flourished thanks to the guidance of Toya and I am honored to have her on my side on this big day.
Groomsman
Batman and Robin (I'm Batman), Jordan and Pippen (I'm Jordan), Rick and Morty (I'm Rick). At least that's what I told myself. I thought people liked me because I was a cool fella, but nah people thought I was cool because I hung with Pringle lol. There's only two degrees of separation with Pringle, not six. Everybody know Pringle. Hell, I'm honored he said he'll be in my wedding lol. One of my closest friends and LBs.
Bridesmaid
I realized long ago a great older sister can also feel like a younger cooler mother figure, and that's what I have in Felicia aka Snoot. I can talk to her about anything and allows have been able to. Whether its something serious or even about my "crazy" conspiracy theories, she's always willing to listen and be engaging. In my eyes she's like a beauty queen, who you can catch in some nice J's, but who's also a ufc fighter. Before Kita met Snoot I may have exaggerated just a little. I kind of told Kita that Snoot was very strict, over protective, and only joined the military cause she's violent and had to redirect that energy for a better cause.......Kita believed me and was nervous to meet Snoot until she found out that wasn't true lol. All in all, my sister is probably better than yours. Mike might see her as a sister but I view her as a mother figure. From day one I have went to her for guidance on what to do about her “crazy brother” and what to do about this “crazy baby” lol. She is always there with the answers and advice. Something we both are truly grateful for.
Groomsman
When its time to work, it's time to work; but when its time to kick back and have a good time you have to make sure Keem there. Always smiling and ready to enjoy life.
Ring Bearer
Okay, let’s be real. We all know who yall came to see and it isn’t the Bride and Groom. Move out the way when this spunky toddler jets by.
Groomsman
MMMYYYKKEEE!!! There is no one in this world who can say my name in a more country way than Kev lol! One of Hartsville's finest and hands down the best freestyler I personally ever met. Aye Kev......Tupac is a legend, but he still had a nose ring though lol.
Flower Girl
The definition of serving face lives with our flower girl. Sarai will be throwing flowers with grace and face all weekend long.
Groomsman
We went to the same high school, but we didn't develop our friendship until college. Honestly I thought he was more than halfway fool in high school, with his alter ego name "5Deuce." So it didn't hurt my feelings none that we wasn't cool lol. Apparently being college broke together and still having fun can bring people closer because I became cool with Chad and 5Deuce and the rest is history lol.
Usher
My oldest godson Noah is pure joy (just like his mother Courtney). This gentleman will guide you to your seat for the evening.
Officiant
Just like his brother Sean, I consider Aarin my younger brother more so than my second oldest nephew. Aarin was the youngest of the three of us so he always got special favoritism type treatment. Me and Sean was practically on our own trying to fend for table scrapes while Aarin lived like a boy king. The proof that God showed favor to Aarin growing up is the reason he's able to marry Nikita and I lol. Things couldn't have worked out any better because I'm honored to have my nephew/brother as the officiant of my wedding.
Mother of the Bride
They say a girls first friend is her mommy (even if she tells you “she isn’t one of your little friends”). We have been thru so much like every other mother-daughter relationship in the world; but thru it all I know I can always count on my Monie. She taught me what it means to be independent and strong and I’m thankful for that lesson. She also taught me how to appreciate the little things in life; like a walk on the beach, a swing in the park or a game of checkers (which she always cheats in jk). So how do I describe this MOB - easy she is a Peach….appears sassy on the outside but is soft and sweet on the inside.
Honorary Groomsman
If Donta was still existing on the Earth he would have been a groomsman, so I still wanted to mention him as one. I guarantee this wedding would have a completely different story if Donta was still here with us. He is literally a copy cat of Allen from the movie Hangover. The most unique individual I have ever met and anyone who knows him would agree. Donta had to most unorthodox mind of all my friends hands down. I don't care how serious a situation was.....he was going to say nothing completely inappropriate that would have you feeling bad about yourself because you're in tears laughing. Our group of friends had a running joke about never making Donta the godfather of any of our children, but being the person Donta was he'd just laugh and tell every child of ours that he was their godfather and then teach them something to make you shake your head, but simultaneously cry laughing. He will be missed, but his amazing energy is so powerful that his presence is always felt.
Father of the Bride
My Daddy is better than yours! And I said what I said. No other man has taught me life lessons, allowed me to gracefully fail, let me curse when I’m frustrated, indulged in my random fads of interest, listened to my woes and my joys like he has. Ted is the world’s greatest Paw Paw to Zion and father to me. He taught me what it means to be valued and loved I’m thankful that I found a soulmate that gives me the same respect, laughs and love that my daddy does.
Honorary Parents of the Bride
The stars aligned perfectly for me when I moved to Charleston, SC and met Ladonna or as I so affectionately call her ‘Mom’ aka ‘My work Mom’. Ladonna opened her business door, the door to her home, the door to her family but most importantly the door to her heart and let a strange free spirited girl waltz right in. She taught me how to be a business woman in a world full of “others” while still being true to my character. She took me under her wing and claimed me as her own. Her and ‘Dad’ (aka Keith) treat me like their own daughter and when moving to a strange city not knowing a soul in site that feeling was a much needed comfort. The feeling of gratitude I have towards them could never truly be expressed. I’m beyond thankful for my Bonus Parents.
