Nicole and Nick both attended Southern Regional which is their local high school. Although not knowing each other they had a similar friend group which caused them to finally meet. As sophomores everyone was attending Sweet 16 parties, which is where Nicole and Nick's story begins. The party was at the Waretown Fire House where they were both invited to the Sweet 16. Nicole was out on the dance floor and Nick could not help but to notice her every where she went. Nick was sitting at a table with his friends when Nicole approached them to dance. Nick was the first to make fun of the idea until he was called out by Nicole. Little did they know that was going to be the beginning of forever.
After going through life together for the past 9 years; being named homecoming king and queen, graduating high school, attending & graduating college, starting their careers, adding Benji to the family and buying a house, Nick decided the next big step was to buy a ring. Once he bought the ring, he asked Nicole's dad for permission and was able to make arrangements without Nicole finding out. On the day of the proposal, Nick talked with Nicole about bringing Benji for a walk on the beach then going to the Shell for dinner and drinks. Though Nick and Nicole still disagree, Nick NEVER mentioned a specific time they would go. Nicole decided to go on an afternoon run when she received a call from Nick that he was on his way to pick her up. Nicole was enjoying her run and was no where near ready for going out. She didn't understand why Nick was in such a rush. After stubbornly finishing the rest of her run and getting ready, they left for the beach with Benji. As they walked onto the beach Benji started running towards something near the dunes. When Nicole finally got close enough, she saw decorations surrounding the I Love You that was written in the sand. When she turned around, Nick was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring. Once Nicole said yes, they were joined by their family and friends to celebrate. Even though Nick says Nicole was two hours late...it was the perfect start to forever!
