It was 2019 and Joel had just started as the General Manager at a STARR restaurant, Electric Lemon, where Nicole worked as the Events Manager. And so, they fell in love. NOT! Fast forward a few years of countless daily phone calls about annoying clients, floor plans and counting chairs to February 2022 and Nicole's last week at work. She innocently ;) asked Joel to get "goodbye drinks", meanwhile Joel agreed thinking "yeah, it's been a hell of a ride, we deserve a cocktail!". After a shot of tequila and a few bottles of Miller High Life™, they soon realized this was not goodbye. And so, they fell in love. NOT! (Well, sort of). It all changed one fateful day in May, when Joel danced a little too hard at a wedding in Texas and broke his leg. Joel rushed back to NYC for emergency surgery - two plates, twelve screws and the best thing that has ever happened to him. Funemployment turned into a full-time job for Nurse Nicole, as she helped Joel get back on his feet (literally!). Timing was finally on their side; their midnight dinner dates due to Joel's crazy work schedule changed to just sitting on the couch together, laughing, talking and eating. And so, they fell in love. FOR REAL! Cut to 2024 in Palm Springs, California, on a mountain, 8,500 feet in the air where Joel asked Nicole to be his forever partner and she said, "I WILL!". (#IwillisthenewYES). We are beyond excited for our special day and hope to share this milestone together with you - laughing, talking, eating and dancing...with hopefully no broken legs.
