Our beloved Monument Circle is the true heart of Downtown Indianapolis. Often filled with life on the lunch hour or during one of the many events that happen year round, it's truly a must-see for anyone visiting the Circle City. At this time, the observation deck at the top of Soldiers and Sailors Monument is closed due to construction, but be sure to check out the gift shop at promenade level.
Last minute doubts about what you packed? All good! Feel free to hit up the Circle Center Mall which is located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Circle Centre Mall is a prime retail, dining, and entertainment destination featuring over 60 retailers. If you are staying at the Omni there is a connecting skywalk so you don't even need to go outside.
Want to explore and still get some steps in? Look no further! The Canal Walk is part of the Indiana Central Canal, which was dug in the early 1800s, in an effort to facilitate interstate commerce. Today, the refurbished Canal Walk (stretching north through White River State Park to 11th Street) serves the downtown community as a waterside promenade for walkers, runners, bikers and sightseers (while the canal itself includes a steady stream of pedal boats, which may be rented west of the Indiana State Museum).
The Indiana State Library and Historical Bureau is a public library building, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the largest public library in the state of Indiana, housing over 60,000 manuscripts. Fun fact - this is one of Nicole's favorite spots to host team meetings
The Indianapolis Zoo is a 64-acre non-profit zoo, public aquarium, and botanical garden. Visiting is a sure way to get your steps in! Please note that the Zoo is moving to a cashless system to provide a speedy, carefree, and convenient entry for guests. Visitors are urged to purchase their tickets ahead of time online. For guests who bring cash, we have a cash-to-card service available.
One of our guilty pleasures when we're craving seafood and needing a taste of the lake life is stopping at Ricks! If you're staying downtown you'll need to take an uber or lyft but it is a quick 15 minute ride! Their menu does change by season so be sure to check that out before you go!
Nicknamed the “Little Smokies” because of the area’s resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. This park is Indiana’s largest park with nearly 20 miles of tree-lined roads and many scenic vistas overlooking miles of uninterrupted forestland. Trails 7 and 8 are our favorite trails! Bella especially likes 7 due to the small streams and plenty of smells! Daily entrance is $7 for Indiana residents and $12 for non-Indiana residents.
Arrowhead Golf Course is Jacob and Nicole's favorite 18 hole course for a quick and relaxing round of golf. It is located in Greenfield, Indiana. The front 9 is longer but open and the back is tight with a lot of trees. Worth the price of the green fee and the clubhouse staff are very welcoming. The hot dogs are also a guilty pleasure for Nicole and Jake during their nine-split!
It may be a little chilly but a great spot to swim, picnic, or hike! Jacob and Nicole try to make it to the Dunes at least once a year. Indiana Dunes consists of 2,182 acres of primitive, beautiful, historic, and unique Hoosier landscape. It lies at the north end of State Road 49 in Porter County and includes more than three miles of beautiful beach along Lake Michigan’s southern shore. National park rates may vary but our last trip was $7 for entry or if you're a National Park pass holder you'll be good to go in for free!
