We first met freshman year of college sitting in a 50 person lecture hall. The class was Bio 102. Colin was shy and did not say much to Nicole but always made a point to wave to her around campus and got extra Starbucks coffee just so he could see her at her work. Nicole flirted with him at a Halloween party Sophomore year but Colin was too scared to pursue her! Finally, junior year they ended up in the same Neurobiology class together and reconnected. Nicole approached Colin one night in line to get chicken fingers and chatted him up about class. Colin was finally brave enough to continue the conversation and they have been together ever since.
Surprisingly Nicole asked Colin out on their first date. She texted him asking if he liked the Avengers movies which he innocently replied "Captain America is my man". She preceded to invite him to the movies and it has been love ever since. They continue to go see Marvel movies together!
8/6/2021 Colin had assured Nicole that he was NOT going to propose until at least the fall. Nicole had been begging him, pleading him, convincing him that she must be engaged as soon as possible. She knew there was a family ring and she was ready to wear it. Colin told her to come to his family home in Natick where they would go out to eat for her birthday. As she began driving the thought of a proposal crossed her mind for a split second and then quickly vanished. As she opened the door and saw two very sad Labrador retrievers peaking from behind a gate, the lights dimmed, Ed Sheeran playing... she knew something was going on. A sign on the basement door read "Go Here" and she walked down the stairs lit by small candles. At the bottom she saw Colin and said "What are you doing". He got down on one knee while Nicole continued to say "What are you doing!". She immediately said yes! That night Colin surprised Nicole again by inviting several of their friends to come over and celebrate. Her friends Veronica and Kenya had been there all day helping decorate the place.
The ring Colin proposed with belongs to his Great Grandma Olive. She was the life of the party and could always be seen dancing at family weddings and just having a good time. Nicole plans to wear the ring the rest of her life and dance the night away at her wedding, just as Grandma Olive would!
