Nicole and Andrew first met in 2010 as young high schoolers at Aurora Central, when their main concern was what to pack in their lunches, and what socks or ties to wear to school that day. They went to homecoming together and were good friends. As time went on, the pressures of college came quickly, and they lost touch. But in 2016, when Jess and Natalie were returning from Kairos, the two reconnected. It was slow to start with Nicole in Illinois and Andrew in Ohio. As time went on, they became closer, and their love grew. Through flights to Ohio, freezing baseball games, weekends on the boat, and dinner dates that ended watching ER, they grew to respect, care for, and love each other.

It was a Sunday afternoon at the Arcada Theater, with their family in the balcony, that Andrew decided to ask Nicole to be his wife.
