Blake and Nicki met in the very last hours of 2022. A mutual friend invited them to her NYE party. Nicki was on time (for once) and Blake made his big entrance hours after the start of the party. Blake made small talk with the customarily shy Nicki. He was smitten from then on. He conspired after she left the party in the wee hours of 2023 to contrive an axe-throwing get-together. One week later, a merry band of friends threw axes together and had Mexican food afterward, where Blake gathered up the courage to ask for Nicki's digits, on the pretext of helping her move to a new city the following week. He valiantly led the charge lugging all of her things from a third-floor unit to the moving van below and made the trek back and forth from one city to another. At the end of the long workday, he mustered the energy to ask her out on their first date (which was magical) and the rest is history. To this day, Blake and Nicki bravely take on their bright future side by side.
