We’re Getting Married!

It’s funny how life works sometimes – Ashley and Nick had both known and loved each others’ families long before they ever met. From the Sharp family attending the famous Madril tailgates, to the Madrils going to Sharp birthday parties, and the Sharp brothers working with Ashley's dad. Throughout all of these occasions, Ashley and Nick actually never met – just barely missing each other every time their families connected. Until one fateful day, when Ashley's parents took her to Nick's brother’s surprise 30th birthday party. Ashley made a good impression on Nick's mom before leaving the party for night shift at the hospital. Ashley and Nick still hadn't met, but that night is when their stars began to align. Nick's sister-in-law made sure they got each others’ phone numbers. Not much happened after Ashley and Nick exchanged phone numbers, until June 1, 2019. Ashley had just gotten back from a trip to Chicago and Nick had just gotten back from a work trip. They met up at a casual bar on 4th Ave: Che's Lounge. From the moment they met, they laughed, smiled, talked, and enjoyed each other’s presence throughout the entire night. They had such a good time together, they didn't realize last call was already being called. It’s as if from that night on, they both knew they were meant for each other. Their love has been growing ever since. We owe our relationshp to our families and friends. Without them, we wouldn't have the beautiful love we find ourselves in today.

We were on vacation in Lake Tahoe, CA. The first day, we had decided to go on a hike to a castle on the lake that Ashley had been so excited to see. The hike was beautiful, the skies were bright and the water glisened so perfectly. At the Castle, we sat and had lunch. We finished our lunch and made our way back on the Rubicon trail. There was a beautiful little beach along the trail and Nick suggested that we stop one more time and have some mimosas. Nick secretly set up his phone to record the moment; he then stood us up on the beach, went on one knee and said the most beautiful words ending with "My sweetheart, will you marry me?" With so much love and tears in her eyes, Ashley giggled and said "Of course I will!" We celebrated our engagement the rest of our trip and it was the most magical experience. This was the next chapter in our lives and we both are so excited to celebrate this next big chapter with all of our loved ones!
