It's All Happening!

Nick and Ali met at their first job out of college at a logistics company (romantic, we know). At the time, Ali had a boyfriend and Nick was "focused on his career." Legend has it that one day Nick leaned over to a colleague and proclaimed, as Ali walked by, "Who is that? I think I'm going to marry that girl." What seemed like friendly banter at the time, quickly turned into quite the quote. Shortly down the road, Ali somehow became single and Nick respectfully saw his window. The two casually dated for a couple short months, which included an infamous cheese and wine night where Nick almost blew it by bringing a "really nice" $6 bottle of Cabernet. Along the way, the couple enjoyed summers at the lake, long weekend trips exploring the country, casual weekday nights watching Friends on the couch, but mainly just time spent together. Three years later...

The day of the proposal, Ali was to throw a birthday party for Nick on the rooftop of their building with friends. Before the party, they had a brunch planned at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. After inevitable awkward conversation in the car on the way there, Ali started to get curious. While dealing with Nick's bird attack while walking through the gardens, the couple had finally made it to the "spot". A dead end, discovered by Nick and his brother a few weekends before, was surrounded by flowers. After dropping to a knee and slightly fumbling to get the ring out of his pocket, Nick finally brought it all together. Ali quickly realized that the birthday wasn't happening and the rest of the day had taken an incredible turn. The couple headed back into the city where they were joined by friends and family from all over to celebrate one of the best days of their lives. Before the wedding, of course...
