It all started the day after Rebecca signed up for eHarmony when she received a simple message from a guy called Nick. We spent hours talking over text and on the phone (as he walked the island and she her Columbia neighborhood) before finally meeting in person at Patriots Point. Rebecca got to know Nick’s other love that day on the USS Yorktown: the Navy. Our relationship grew naturally from that point; we became fast friends and fell in love. We've shared miles of walks (from Congaree National Forest to the salt marsh boardwalks on Daniel Island), watched hours of nerd television (Marvel, Harry Potter, and Doctor Who to name a few), enjoyed cooking with and for one another (Nick’s enchiladas are to die for), and become amateur drinks connoisseurs (we’re currently on a kick for mead). After much conversation and prayer, we took the next step and got engaged at Lower Whitewater Falls over Memorial Day weekend (after what was meant to be a 2 mile hike turned into 14 because we can’t read signs).
