Nick and I met on a blind date by mutual friends on December 30, 2014. We were so nervous on our blind date that we could barely look one another in the eye but I knew right when I laid eyes on him, this country boy was going to steal my heart. We went on two more dates before January 16, 2015 when Nick pulled out a dozen red wine roses with a card that asked, “Will you be mine?” it was snowing that evening. It was just perfect. We continued dating and falling more for each other as the days all blurred together. On May 16, 2015, a few weeks before Nick graduated high school, we went to his senior prom together. I remember feeling so alive and full of love as we danced the night away. That was the evening Nick first told me he loved me. The feeling of hearing someone say that for the first time is a feeling no one should ever forget. I had known for awhile that I had loved him too. In August of 2015, I had the pleasure of taking Nick on a family vacation to Florida where he saw the ocean for the very first time. I remember us running into the waves and we couldn’t stop laughing. Every time a crystal blue gulf wave would hit us, we’d fall in and laugh even harder. Little did I know that less than two years later, on May of 2017, he would drop to one knee and propose to me on a beach with the sand beneath our toes. I said “Absolutely,” with my entire family around to witness it in a paradise I call, Outer Banks, NC. I can’t even remember not having this man in my life. He is my rock, my best friend and so much more. I fall more in love with him each and every day. Now our love is even more special knowing that we share the same love for God and passion to spread his love to others. Meeting each other at 17 and 18 wasn’t just a coincidence, it was fate. He is my soul mate, the one who God had chosen for me all along and here we are, conquering life together and ready to be married on March 16, 2019. ♡
