We’re getting married!

Nick and Joanna met in August of 2020. Joanna's good friend Jessica was always looking for someone to set her up with. So, when she met Nick at the golf course her now fiance Derek worked at she knew she had to set them up on a double date. They ended up going to In n Out, Top Golf, and Main Event. After some Spinatos, dog walks, and dessert dates they were dating!

Over fall break, Joanna and Nick decided to go to Pine which is one of their favorite places to visit. On Saturday, October 1st they woke up with a plan to go to breakfast at the Randall House, go for a hike, take a nap and grill steaks for dinner. The morning went as planned and they went to breakfast then drove up to the trail at the back of the neighborhood. They started their hike and reached a spot where there were many pretty views overlooking pine. Joanna commented on the view at the highest point and said how pretty it was. They continued on the trail until it started to head back down the mountain. They took a few photos and decided to turn back. On the way back, as they were walking through the part of the trail with all the views, Nick kept asking Joanna if this was the best view. Joanna kept going as it was not yet the best one. Finally, Joanna stops and says “this is it” and keeps going on the trail. Nick stopped her and said “wait dont you want to take more photos?”. Joanna gave in and they took a few more photos and Nick asked Joanna to give Margo some more water. Joanna finishes giving Margo her water and notices Nick being a little fidgety. She stood up and Nick was blocking her from continuing on the trail and he said “I have a question” then he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. Before he could say anything else Joanna shouted out “of course!”. He laughed and said “Wait, I have to ask you something first!”. Nick said all the right things and put the ring on Joanna’s finger. Joanna, in shock, started running back down the mountain and had to go back and take some more photos. As they finish their hike Joanna is grilling Nick on how he pulled this off because she had absolutely no idea! They got back in the car and headed back to the cabin where some of their friends and family were waiting. The day went perfectly except for when Margo decided to slip between the rails of the deck and chase an elk through the woods.
