Nick and Abbie entered each others lives on the 1st day of Kindergarten in 2000, walking into Mrs. Hedberg’s morning class.
Through middle school, high school, and even college - Nick and Abbie always knew they shared a special connection. After all, he did have the biggest crush on her and may or may not have tried to date her a few times. But let’s not throw only Nick under the bus... Before they even started dating, Abbie introduced Nick to her college friends as ‘the guy she was going to marry one day’ - I guess its true, sometimes you just know. With life after college graduation coming up, both having jobs lined up in Boston, still remaining very close with their high school friend group and of course living at their parents’ homes - who happen to live right down the street from each other - there wasn’t much keeping Nick and Abbie apart. After years of friendship, Nick gave it one more try - they started dating in March of 2017, moved in together in August of 2020, and couldn’t be happier.
It was a perfect day in Boston - Saturday April 24th, 2021, sunny and 75. They started their day with a walk on the esplanade along the Charles River. It would’ve been even more perfect if Abbie maybe picked out a more comfortable pair of shoes. Their walk was followed by a brunch date on Newbury Street, which Nick struggled with due to nerves leading up to his big moment. Then, after a romantic ride on the green line, back to the place that they called home together, Nick got down on one knee and asked Abbie to marry him. They ended their perfect day with a surprise party surrounded by friends and family celebrating.
