Things To Do

We're excited to welcome you to NC! For those of you (that's most of you) coming from out of state and looking to explore a bit, we wanted to share a few ideas of fun activities to do while you're here!
Sarah P. Duke Gardens

Sarah P. Duke Gardens

420 Anderson Street, Durham, NC 27708

Famous beautiful botanic-garden like space. Fountains, flowers, trees, trails, large grassy areas, etc. Admission is free!

Southern Pines

Southern Pines

127 SW Broad St, Southern Pines, NC

Home of big sis Kristen, Southern Pines is where we crashed for our first few months here in NC. It's got a charming downtown with breweries, crepes (gluten free!), historic homes, and more. It's a bit of a drive from Durham (1 hr 15 min) but super cute place to spend a morning or afternoon!

Cucciolo Osteria

Cucciolo Osteria

601 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701

Our favorite italian spot with fun drinks and tons of gluten free options. Could make for a good date night, just be sure to make a reservation since they tend to book up quickly!

Simons Says Dip This

Simons Says Dip This

117 West Parrish Street, Durham, NC 27701

This place serves a huge variety of dipped custard cones, and has swings inside! Cool fun and different spot if you're lookin for an ice-cream like treat.

Hutchins Garage

Hutchins Garage

402 West Geer Street, Durham, NC 27701

Good vibes, good pizza (including gluten free!), good beer. Old garage turned pizza shop that quickly became a fave of ours.

West Point on the Eno Park

West Point on the Eno Park

5101 North Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27704

Large park with a hiking trail, river, picnic grounds, and historic buildings.

Durham Farmers Market

Durham Farmers Market

501 Foster Street, Durham, NC 27701

Every Saturday morning find baked goods, flowers, fresh veggies, and even a guy dressed as a fox writing poems on a typewriter.

Durham Food Hall

Durham Food Hall

530 Foster Street, Durham, NC 27701

Cool spot with coffee shop, bagel shop, mexican food, italian, and more. Think elevated food court. Also right across the street from Durham Central Park for breakfast/lunch after the farmers market!

For all the days along the way
