We met at Brandon's (Davonte's cousin) high school open house on June 9, 2007. Davonte's first line to Nia was, "You have some pretty feet!" Weird pick-up line right?! Nia wasn't that into Davonte when they first met, but he began to grow on her. The couple were on and off throughout the years, but really solidified their relationship during the college days because when you know, you know! Most importantly Nia and Davonte have become best friends and continue to grow with each other.

Oh what a day it was! I (Nia) was in the kitchen washing dishes. T-shirt and shorts had water all over it, but I felt something behind me. I thought it was Kaiden playing around, but it was Davonte on one knee. I turned around and was so shocked and just began to cry. Happy tears of course! He has never been a big planner and I am not that fond of surprises, so the proposal was perfect for us. What made it extra special is that Kaiden wanted to help put the ring on too!
