Neither of us are shy about how we first met. However there is still a debate on when our official "first date" was. We were introduced on the dating app Bumble. The real kicker for me was Andrew's photo with his nephew. I was all ready to swipe right anyway and then those two cute faces were looking at me on the last slide and I was SOLD! We met at a local bar called Ale on Oak Street in October 2017. I was running late because I scheduled a hair appointment that day, of course I had to look good! Andrew totally understood when I texted and told him I would be late. We had two beers over very easy conversation and he walked me to me to my car like a gentleman. Andrew was very persistent on seeing me again but not to the point of annoyance. He was patient with me and worked around my ever so busy schedule. Boy am I ever so glad I went on what I consider our "first date" a month later. Andrew picked me up and we went to one of my favorite restaurants, La Thai in November 2017. We didn't think we needed a reservation but on a Friday night they were busy! So we sat at this tiny table in the front that was barely big enough for our food and drinks. After dinner neither of us was ready to say goodbye so off we went to St. Joe's for old fashioneds. We laughed and recounted silly stories from our past. It was there in the back of St. Joe's that I knew this was different. By December 2017 we were inseparable. A Saints home game, numerous Christmas parties, fancy dinners, not so fancy dinners, and ALL of the laughs. By the time 2018 was rung in I was a goner. I knew I couldn't possibly live my life any more with out him. 2018 has been full of love, laughter, and adventure, I just can't wait to see what the rest of our lives have in store for us!
I gave Laura the choice of three places to meet for our first date (there is no debate, our meeting at Ale was the first date). I should have known she was a keeper when she picked a beer spot over a fancy cocktail/wine bar. I was blown away the first time I saw her. She was stunning. Plus, her hair looked amazing! Almost immediately after the FIRST date our schedules were hectic and it was difficult to find time to see one another again. But I finally convinced her to have dinner with me almost a month later. She kept hemming and hawing and telling me she might have to leave early to meet up for a friend's birthday. Luckily for both of us I'm so handsome, funny, and charming that she decided to spend time with me instead. When we were at St. Joe's trading embarrassing stories about ourselves I could tell that this was something special. The next week she was introducing me to her friends. I passed their test with flying colors because 8 days after our SECOND date we were in the Super Dome watching my beloved Redskins blow a 15 point lead with less than 6 minutes to go to Laura's Saints. She was quite pleased and enjoyed torturing me over it so maybe the Redskins did me a favor. By December we were inseparable. I fell quick, fast, and in a hurry. I survived as long as I could without her, and now I'm certain I can't go on without her. Can't wait to see what the future holds and to find new ways to make her smile.
