Our story began long before Joshua ever asked me on a date. Looking back on our lives now, it’s easy to see how the Lord has been preparing our hearts for each other from the very start. Joshua and I both grew up in church, experiencing the sweet gift of Christian community. By the Lord’s grace, we continued to seek a strong church community in our adult years. Little did we know, God would lead us to the same church and the same small group at almost the exact same time. For a whole year we passed by each other only exchanging small talk about speeding tickets and roller coasters. Then, out of the blue, Joshua asked me on a breakfast date. I was pleasantly surprised…mostly surprised. The next three dates were all at restaurants where we proceeded to talk the whole time, taking home our untouched meals in to-go boxes. Conversation was effortless to say the least. We made things official on our third date and promptly got serious. Knowing that this had real potential, we fired off our list of dealbreakers in hopes that if this was going to fail it would fail quickly. In the midst of this, we were learning to trust each other, enjoy each other’s company, and before long we had fallen in love. Loving each other has been the sweetest gift and we are so excited to celebrate what the Lord has done in our lives with you all.
