In 2017, our story started in the campus library, thanks to a mutual friend. Amidst whispered study sessions, our friendship blossomed like delicate petals, and a cinematic turn led to a group outing to see "Black Panther." The silver screen marked the beginning of a friendship flowering beyond the academic soil. As seasons changed, our connection deepened, intertwining like vines. Intellectual exchanges evolved into shared pursuits of physical wellness, with running and workouts becoming the roots binding our spirits. Then, in 2020, life's unexpected gusts of wind arrived. Nelson expressed romantic interest, met with my perception of platonic bonds. Unfazed, Nelson embraced a ministry position in Virginia, and during a candid call, he shared his heart for me while also initiating a two-month disengagement in order to focus on the divine work entrusted to his hands. In the void, my emotions stirred—introspection revealing sentiments beyond friendship. Guided by wisdom and prayer, clarity dawned. A visit to Roanoke unfolded as shared laughter paved the way for a revelation amid a dinner blossoming with connection. In a moment of vulnerability, our souls danced, opening the door to a love beyond friendship. At the edge, we dared to explore, Beyond the Ordinary, a love to implore. Petals of friendship, now tightly bind, Hearts blooming, a love beautifully defined.
