Flight

Jaipur International Airport

This is the closest airport located to Mundota Palace. It is about 24 miles (40 km) from the venue and about an hour drive. We will provide more information regarding transportation options from Jaipur airport to Mundota Fort and Palace at a later date. You can expect transportation to be provided from Jaipur airport to Mundota on Tuesday, January 28th. There are limited flights that fly directly into Jaipur from international locations. You can expect to find more international flight options that fly directly into New Delhi (Indira Gandhi International Airport) - see below. You may consider flying into New Delhi and then taking a connecting flight to Jaipur which is a 45 minute flight.

Flight

Indira Gandhi International Airport

New Delhi is the largest airport to fly into internationally. You may then consider an internal flight to Jaipur, which is about an hour flight (this is what we recommend). If you plan to fly into Delhi, you may also consider hiring a driver which is about a 4-5 hour drive to Mundota/Jaipur. If considering internal flights in India (they are cheap!), it is important to keep in mind luggage restrictions for an internal flight from New Delhi to Jaipur. We highly recommend trying to find a direct flight to Jaipur due to bag restrictions and extra travel time.

Your passport must be valid for six months beyond date of visa application to obtain a visa. Travelers must have a paper visa, valid for 10 years for U.S. citizens, or an e-tourist visa. E-tourist visas typically take 3 business days. If you decide to do the 30 day e-Visa: (visit this link: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html) "For e-Tourist Visa (30 days) , applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply online minimum 4 days in advance of the date of arrival. Such application can be made 30 days in advance from proposed date of travel. The validity would be 30 days from the date of your first arrival in India". The processing for the E-visa approximately takes up to 72 hours.

Travel Note

Vaccines and Malaria Prevention

Entry to India does not require any vaccinations. However, it is recommended to have the following vaccines up to date: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, Covid-19, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, rabies, polio, and tetanus. We and CDC highly recommend that travelers going to India take prescription medicine to prevent malaria. Talk to your primary care provider about which malaria medication you should take.
