Nathan and Becca’s first conversation was at the Bridge Christmas party in 2020. While they didn’t naturally seek each other out, they talked briefly through a group conversation with mutual friends in the Bridge. They didn’t think anything of it but started serving together shortly after in EDGE in the spring of 2021. From serving together in EDGE and being in the Bridge college ministry, God brought them closer together and the sparks began to grow!

Nathan and Becca had gotten to know each other more through the Bridge and EDGE! Nathan sensed a mutual interest and looked for an opportunity to take a shot. In an attempt to talk to Becca alone, Nathan had some leftover EDGE camp t-shirts placed in his office for them to get after the Saturday night service. His plan worked as it got the two of them alone and he asked her to lunch at Plumeria that week. To his excitement, she agreed to it! Afterward, they awkwardly walked together to get the t-shirts with the excitement of a first date on the horizon!

Through months of dating with the intention of marriage, it was time for Nathan and Becca to take the next step. Nathan put much thought and preparation into secretly buying the ring, scoping out a location, and asking for the parental blessing (with no thanks to Find Friends). Nathan made sure to keep it top secret - not even telling Becca’s friends until the day of the proposal. This didn’t come without some bumps with Becca’s friends noticing Nathan acting “a little weird” the week beforehand and Becca’s small group fellowship “having to be moved” to a new time. The day came and despite not being able to eat much at dinner they made it to Crescent Bay Beach and navigated to the exact spot (with some guarding by the photographers). Nathan expressed his love for Becca, got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked her to marry him. Although unsure at first whether Nathan was serious or not, she came to realize this was real and replied “Of course!”

Nathan and Becca will be wed on January 6, 2023, at Compass Bible Church, Aliso Viejo. We can’t wait to celebrate our wedding day with you!
