Back in 2019, they swiped right on Bumble and had no idea in that instant that they had just found their other half. Their first chats were about Tommy Boy, Jim Carrey and Nate phonetically spelling out his middle name so Kalee could pronounce it…the conversations flowed effortlessly. Their first date, a couple weeks later, was at a little Italian restaurant named Caffe DaVinci and they still go back every year on their anniversary. Nate was so nervous for the first date the he circled the place 3 or 4 times before he actually parked! Kalee was super shy at first but it was so easy being with him. Their second date was at Spaghetti Warehouse where the restaurant photographer kept telling them to kiss for a photo when they hadn’t even had their first kiss yet. Most awkward moment ever! Kalee pointed to her cheek and they still to this day consider that their “first kiss”. Many of their first dates involved adventuring to random bridges and talking for hours. They always seemed to lose track of time enjoying each others company and that still hasn’t changed. Kalee would happily sit under a bridge with him forever and listen to the sound of his voice or him laugh at his own jokes. When you know, you know I guess.
Exactly 4 years to the day after they swiped right, Nate somehow managed to surprise Kalee with the candlelit proposal she’s always dreamed of. He planned it for months before; sneaking off to her parents house to ask her father’s permission and planning the set up with her stepmom, Courtney. He said it was just a date night to her favorite restaurant (they do date nights a lot so it was nothing unusual). Kalee’s parents texted and asked them to let their dog out because they were out of town, again thinking nothing of it they stopped at her parents after dinner. It wasn’t until they pulled up and Kalee saw the back yard glowing that she knew. Floating lanterns where in the pool, candles and oil lanterns where everywhere, it was beautiful. Their song was playing when they walked up and Nate got down on his knee and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes or you all wouldn’t be reading this right now. Nate did a wonderful job and the ring was just what she wanted!
