Nate and I met in college. 2015 was his Senior and my Sophomore year at CNU. I sincerely didn't see him coming, and when he did, I naturally considered Nate a great friend *moment of silence*. We met at several worship events. By design of our small school, we came across each other often and got to know one another pretty quickly. Shoutout to Regattas to-go and Creed, the first movie. It didn't hurt that he was always toting a guitar and a lovely smile (; . At this point, Nate and I might have reached the peak of our experimental fashion. He had baby dreads, a cartilage hoop, and skater shoes, that almost never left his feet. I was in a pretty serious thrifting phase, mixing mens clothes with skirts, and fedoras. I honestly think these outfits played a factor in our mutual crush. We had lots of memorable conversations, breaking the ice with our favorite music artists, some original work, and I'll say it once more, so many worship nights. Over the first year, Nate challenged me to sing praises, when I hadn't been singing much at all. Looking back, I'm not sure if we had too much in common, but we shared a growing hunger for prayer, worship, and bible teaching. Backed with a loving group of god-fearing friends, our own friendship grew into a unique relationship. We dated for 3 and a half years, learning to pursue God individually, as well as together. These have been some of my most strengthening and adventuresome years, without a doubt. Having been a part of some pretty great weddings in the past few, Nate and I have seen an awesome display of Bridegroom love. We got engaged in January of 2019 and it couldn't be more right for us to celebrate our story with you all. To God be all the glory! , Leah
