Little did Jena and Nate know that for 4 years at Winter Park High School, their life partner passed them every day. Nate was busy studying for his AP classes and making amazing plays while Jena was deep into her studies and blocking every soccer ball that came her way. Despite mutual friends and being apart of athletics, the world decided the timing was not quite right yet for this destined couple to unite. A few years went by, the two went on to play collegiate sports. Nate moved to Georgia and Jena at Daytona State, where they continued to learn more about themselves. When at home in Winter Park over the summers, the two would see glimpses of each other but nope, not just yet. As Nate gained his freshman 25 lbs Jena took note. Running into each other at the YMCA, in Jena’s mind thinking, "Wow, Nate really glowed up!" Anyway, life carried on, COVID came and didn't really go away, and now Nate was back in Orlando as a UCF knight in the Physical therapy program. After a gap year, Jena found herself also applying to UCF’s DPT program and knew just the guy to ask for advice… And it worked! Soon after, the two were reunited at a few PT class gatherings, where one of Nate's friend's told him "Nate you gotta do something about her, she is flirting with you" (referring to Jena of course). As Jena claims to have made all the first moves, she asked for his snap chat and invited him to a class beach gathering, where she threw sea weed at him. That's when Nate knew he had found the one. The two started “running into each other” more at the UCF gym and decided to study together. After finally gaining the courage, Nate asked Jena out on a pizza date. It didn’t take long after their first date for Nate to officially asked her to be his girlfriend. They quickly met each other’s families and began building their amazing story and lives together!

The day after taking her physical therapy board exam, Jena embarked on a spontaneous girls trip to Puerto Rico where she celebrated being done with boards and awaited her test results. Little did she know, her 2 close friends that she was traveling with, were in on the surprise of a lifetime. After 3 years of dating, Nate flew to PR, where he surprised Jena at the El Morro Fort in San Juan and proposed. She of course said yes (after shedding a few tears), and their forever officially began!
