We owe our meeting to our roommates and our church. Our freshman year, Ashley and her roommate, Logan, and Nate's Roommate, Jake, decided they wanted to be a part of the launching of a church in Tallahassee. After months of getting to know Jake, he decided to finally bring around his amazing roommate and best friend Nate. On this fateful day, Ashley was suffering from a black eye, wearing her glasses, and just coming back from the gym. All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door of what we so lovingly called "Club 2236", and when Ashley opened the door after just changing into new clothes, she found Jake. Then suddenly, around the corner came Nate with his long hair and warm smile. After years of friendship and flirting, Ashley finally got the courage to tell Nate how she felt on 07/06/2020 (maybe it was the pandemic talking), and after a long summer, they finally went on their first date on 09/18/2020. If you ask Logan and Jake, I think they could have seen this coming from a mile away. But to us, our fateful meeting was nothing short of one of God's miracles and beautifully written plans.

After a year of living an hour away from each other, Nate finally got down on one knee! On that day, he made Ashley breakfast, they drank mimosas, and he took her on a day of shopping and bowling. That night, Nate took Ashley to a nice date at Beach Walk Café, where they laughed and talked over a glass of delicious wine. Once dinner was finished, he insisted that they take a walk on the beach since the weather was so perfect. On their walk, Nate reminded Ashley of all of the special memories they shared, specifically on beaches, and Ashley talked about a lot of things she would not like to be reminded of. At one point, Nate stops Ashley and asked her what their future would look like, and she insisted that he would never beat her in bowling again. Unbeknownst to her, Nate had a ring hidden in his waistband and within moments was on one knee. Once Ashley could finally utter the words yes and they celebrate, she looks over and there is our best friend, Noah, capturing the moment on camera. Nate drives Ashley down the road where she finds the best surprise party, a bonfire on the beach. We celebrated with our closest friends and family all night. It was truly the best day ever.
