Flight
Pellston Regional Airport is the closest airport to the Island (~30 minute drive). While flying to Pellston Regional Airport may be more expensive than Detroit, they do offer a shuttle from their airport to the Mackinac Island Ferry. No rental car is needed!
Flight
If flying in from out of state, you likely will find cheaper flights flying into DTW rather than Pellston Regional Airport (30 mins from the Island). While the flights may be more affordable flying into Detroit, you will still need to rent a car and drive 4 hours and 15 mins to the Mackinac Island Ferry (Sheplers or Star Line Ferry in Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, MI).
