Fate (with a little help from a Brad Paisley concert and alcohol) brought Shane and Natalie together on the evening of October 2, 2021. It all started when Natalie got a call that her plans to go to the Oktoberfest block party with her friend were being switched to a Brad Paisley concert instead. Natalie does not like country music and until this night, would not be caught dead at a country concert. She was reluctant, but something told her to go. She sarcastically told her friend “Watch me find my soulmate at a country concert." Fast forward to the concert, Natalie is actually having a blast, dancing around at the tailgate, when a tall and handsome figure randomly approaches her. He introduces himself as Shane. He explained that he was the 18th wheel in his group of friends, and that when Natalie’s friends went over to him to ask for ping pong balls for Beer Pong, he jumped at the opportunity to hang out with them all. Natalie thought he was charming, intelligent, and very funny. They get separated shortly before the concert starts, and when Natalie finally enters the concert, Shane is waiting there for her with her friends. She was impressed. They drink and dance the night away, and at some point Shane even blurts out “I’m going to marry you one day” to Natalie. For some (fortuitous) reason (perhaps the alcohol), Natalie did not see this as a cautionary red flag, but instead a compliment, and went along with it. Two weeks after the concert and a few dates later, Shane asked Natalie to be his “official” girlfriend, and they have been inseparable and in love ever since. Shane and Natalie truly believe that they are soulmates made for each other and were brought together by destiny. They could not be any more excited and grateful to celebrate their special day with you all and start their new journey as a married couple!
