From creating hallway decorations together in student council and making awkward eye contact in high school Spanish classes. These high school sweethearts have made a journey through 3 schools, 3 cities, and 5 different apartments to remain tied at the hip. Now there will be another knot tied, 8-years removed from triple-checking that the "Soph-o-more" banner was spelled correctly before hanging. It sounds crazy, but even during those high school days Natalee and Wyatt, their family, and their friends always had a feeling that this day would always arrive. A matter of when, not if.

Wyatt proposed to Natalee during a beautiful August day, a 70 degree oasis tucked between triple digit heat-indexes. It was their 7-year anniversary. Year 7 was full of love, memorable trips, and tremendous personal growth. Wyatt had begun searching for the ring in April of last year, feeling certain that August would be the time to pop the question. After 6 jewelers and two months, Wyatt found the ring. In July, Wyatt found a photographer to capture the moment. A family friend, who happened to have a day in-between trips to be there. In early August, the location was set, the ring had arrived, and the final steps were in motion. The weekend prior to the 15th, Wyatt asked and received a blessing from Natalee's father, Forrest. There was only one piece left in the puzzle On August 15th, 2023 Wyatt brought Natalee to the beautiful grounds of Kansas City's Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art where he dropped to a single knee, with the photographer hidden in plain-sight, and asked Natalee to marry him.
