how we met

Nasim and Justin technically met on the first day of medical school at UT Southwestern, standing in line for lunch at a welcome retreat in Glen Rose, Texas. They spent the next four years intermittently crossing paths in Dallas, but their story really began when they both coincidentally matched to the University of Washington for residency training. On Match Day 2013, Nasim excitedly exclaimed to Justin, "We're going to be best friends in Seattle!!!!!" Little did she know her half-joking statement would come true... They became fast friends in Seattle, and over the next three years, their friendship grew stronger. Nasim spent a month in central Washington during her third year rotations, and Justin decided that Yakima was the perfect place to proclaim his feelings for her - the timing was less perfect, since this was one week after Nasim had waxed poetic about the benefits of being single and independent. Nevertheless, Justin persisted, and the rest is history.

how we wed

After six years together, Justin proposed on New Year's Day 2021. Unwilling to be deterred by the global pandemic, they got dressed up, hired a photographer, and were wed by the San Francisco county clerk via Microsoft Teams three weeks later, in the comfort of their home in San Francisco, with their families present on Zoom. They danced alone in their living room, enjoyed a five-course take out dinner from Lazy Bear, and spent the weekend on the beautiful Mendocino coast. They knew they wanted to have a proper party one day and patiently waited for the moment when they could finally arrange the best reunion of all time... and here we are!
