• Our friendship started in 2018 when we began playing on the same coed rec soccer team (shout-out Saturday FC at Sara D Roosevelt Park) • Henry says that he had a crush immediately, struck by Naomi's charms on the field and sidelines • Naomi liked Henry's positivity and energy, so they became friends - grabbing drinks after games, inviting each other to sub for their other leagues, and spending more time together off the field • After about a year of friendship, Henry learned that the crush was mutual and was emboldened to make a move • We went on our first date on October 30th, 2019 and we were pretty inseparable from then on

• Henry had a ring in his pocket since his recent trip to Ohio and had a plan to propose the day before we moved from Upper East Side to Brooklyn • We were trying to check items off our "upper east side bucket list" and so we planned to go out and explore on Saturday night the week before the move - Henry saw a new opportunity and moved up his proposal plans! • Henry was sweatin' - not because of nerves, but because he didn't want to take his coat (containing the ring) off at the cocktail bar • After drinks, Henry suggested we walk home through Carl Shurz Park, as it was a rare, clear night for late January • It was moonlit and quiet in the park, and Henry steered us towards a little tree cove where he got down on one knee • Nice things were said, Naomi was misty-eyed and said yes, and then we sat and chatted on a bench in the park until deciding to toast our engagement at the wine bar across from our apartment (shout-out Inés)
