Our RomCom story began in Portland, ME, back in 2019. We met indirectly through Nancy's Roomate via social media. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged back and forth over DM's, then Wai decides to shoot his shot and secured a first date at Liquid Riot. After discovering a mutual love of travel, hiking, a love for family and Adult Beverages, we knew something was there. After playing cat and mouse for about a year Wai finally knew he wanted something more with Nancy. He finally asked her to be his lady, and the rest was history!

It was a tough feat to plan for, as Nancy was always aware of surprises as she does not like them. After careful planning, and strategically strategizing keeping the proposal a surpise for a few months it was game time. Going back to where they had their first date, Wai and Nancy headed to what Nancy thought was a regular lunch date. As they approached the tables at Liquid Riot, Wai kindly asked Nancy to please secure a table on the patio so he could use the rest room. Of course Nancy would not go so quietly. She was definitely not a fan of the idea as it was cold out and asked why she couldn't just wait for him inside. Wai finally was able to convince Nancy to find us a seat on the patio. There was a running joke between Wai and Nancy, that she wanted engagement ring options to pick from when he was to propose. So Wai kindly obliged with a similar version and comes back with a ring stand with five ring pops instead and the engagement ring in the middle. Wai then went for it and said, "In life there are many that will hold your hand, only a few, your heart. I can't promise everything will be perfect, but I do promise we will work together to come close to it. Will you be my forever Yin to my Yang?" And Nancy obivously said yes, so here we are. We can’t wait for this exciting new chapter to begin!
