Amanda & Tom meet at band camp and become friends.

Amanda & Tom date other people while accidentally flirting with each other. They go on their first [unofficial] double date: Blacklight Bowling on Black Friday.

Amanda & Tom start going on dates intentionally.

Amanda & Tom bring in the new year together, have the best 2 for $20 Valentine's date, watch so many movies, spend hours on the phone, and do all the high school sweetheart things. Tom even read bedtime stories to Amanda over the phone (yes, there are some recordings). Amanda invites Tom to prom. Tom doesn't acknowledge the invitation. Amanda and Tom stop talking and the relationship ends.

Amanda moves to Massachusetts, attends Anna Maria College, adopts a cat during a snowstorm, works retail, becomes a board-certified music therapist, takes her mom's dog, builds a solid support system, and figures out what she wants out of life. Tom finishes high school, moves north and attends UMaine, does more band, adopts a cat, plays games, builds houses, and becomes more mature.

Amanda's long-term relationship ends and she moves back to Maine. Amanda starts hosting game nights and invites everyone she knows who still lives in Maine. Tom becomes a game-night regular. Amanda and Tom continue dating other people while they (unofficially) start going on dates again. Favorite dates include a demolition derby, a cornmaze, and Gardens Aglow.

Amanda & Tom start going on dates intentionally again. They discover a shared love of camping, dystopian novels, going to bed early, games, and all other simple things life has to offer. They spend multiple weekends at Acadia, visit the trolls at the Botanical Gardens, meet each other's families, and start picturing a future together.

Amanda & Tom spend their anniversary making cinnamon rolls, building a blanket fort, playing video games, and drinking a bottle of wine. They introduce their pets, move in together, and make Big Life Plans. In September, Tom coordinates with a photography team and proposes by a waterfall along the Appalachian Trail (spoiler: she said yes).
