It’s finally happening!

One of our favorite songs is Falling by Iration. The opening line is “We met at a concert, you were wearing Converse, I’m not good at playing it cool.” Well I wasn’t wearing Converse and he was good at playing it cool. But we did meet at a concert. We were both attending Stephen Marley and Rebelution at the Chelsea at Cosmopolitain. We were each out with friends and ended up dancing together as a group and then as a pair. Somewhere along the line, we exchanged numbers. It would be over six months before we would see each other again...at another Stephen Marley concert.

I was waiting outside on a cold windy day to meet up with a girl I had met 6 months prior at a concert. At about 7:19, she finally came walking up. The original meeting time was at 7, but that 19 minutes was a divine appointment. I was waiting for my future wife, and did not know it at the time. She had already won my heart at this point because she asked me to go to a reggae show as our first date. The band didn’t come on until well after nine. We learned so much about each other in this nearly two hour wait for the music to start. Sparks flew and a second date was a no brainer. She made me wait and it was well worth it. A year later, at the same cold windy spot where I waited on our first date, I asked her to be my wife. She said yes and has been the best fiancée and quarantine partner a guy could ask for!
