Things To Do

Mostly places to eat...and a few actual things to do! Many of these are central to the location of the ceremony and reception.

Memorial Park

6501 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77007

Perfect for a long walk, run or round of golf. Stop by Beck's Prime for a burger

El Tiempo Cantina - Washington

5602 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77007

If you need a Tex-Mex fix! Fajitas + carnitas. May be a wait at peak times. Multiple locations in town.

Giacomo's Cibo e Vino

3215 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77098

One of the best places in town for Italian small plates and homemade pastas - casual, no reservations so plan accordingly

il Bracco

1705-A Post Oak Boulevard, Houston, TX 77056

Dressier spot for Italian food - the chicken piccata, Italian beef sandwich, pastas and sundae are our favorites. Reservations suggested.

State of Grace

3258 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77098

Where we had our first date and where William later proposed. Try the el Felix enchilada or the hush puppies, and marinated crab claws if they're on the menu. Great atmosphere with a beautiful bar and separate oyster bar.

The Menil Collection

1533 Sul Ross Street, Houston, TX 77006

Art museum with beautiful lawn and free admission. Can easily be done in an hour or two. "The Menil houses nearly 19,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, and rare books. Masterpieces from antiquity, the Byzantine and medieval worlds, Africa, Oceania, the American Pacific Northwest, and the 20th century are particularly well represented. Among the highlights of the museum are its Surrealist holdings, widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost collections of its kind. The museum displays selections from its permanent collection and regularly offers special exhibitions and programs to the public."

Kau Ba

2502 Dunlavy Street, Houston, TX 77006

Eclectic casual place for Vietnamese food. If you like a vermicelli bowl, you can't go wrong with the Bun Thit Nuong. Street parking or a small lot available, but can be tricky, so an Uber or Alto may be preferable.

Milk + Honey Spa | River Oaks

2800 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77098

Houstonian Trellis Spa

111 North Post Oak Lane, Houston, TX 77024

Uptown Park

1121 Uptown Park Boulevard, Houston, TX 77056

Outdoor mixed use development with healthy-ish casual chain options like Flower Child, Sweetgreen, and Mendocino Farms, and local Mexican eatery Urbe. Also includes The Rustic which offers a bar, food and live music. Giant Leap has wonderful coffee, and you can stop for a cupcake at Crave or ice cream at Van Leeuwen. Some shopping too!

Uchiko

1801 Post Oak Boulevard, Houston, TX 77056
