A week before the world shut down, we were both hopeful as we swiped on Hinge, made each other laugh, and set up a first date. However, as the pandemic became a reality we had to plan for during that second week of March, 2020, we both got stuck at work on the Wednesday we were supposed to meet. Stressed and tired, we both almost bailed on each other. But fate stepped in, and each of us turned to colleagues who talked us into going on the date anyway. Sarah was late (as usual), a whirlwind walking in saying, "I'd say I'm never late, but I don't want to lie to you on our first date!" Bryan (who had been sitting there for 30 minutes - oops!!) was kind as ever, standing up to give Sarah a hug. Before we knew it, drinks turned into dinner and minutes turned to hours as the conversation flowed like music. As the bar was closing, we had already set up a second date for Friday, two days later. Although that Friday would mark the end of everything normal, the world shutting down and closing its doors, it also marked the beginning of everything for us.
