It was a Wednesday afternoon on August 2nd, 2023, in the emergency room at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee. Jamie was working a shift as a travel nurse when Michael came in on a call working for the local fire department. On his arrival, Michael was performing life-saving measures to resuscitate a patient. The patient continued to receive treatment with much effort by the emergency room staff and fire department. During the call, Michael laid eyes on Jamie (not knowing that he had already caught her eye). At this time, other healthcare professionals stepped in and took over the call, relieving Michael. Michael approached Jamie asking for sanitization wipes. Jamie was confused whether he needed some for his toosh or his hands, but brought both. Upon Michael's receipt of sanitization wipes, he removed his hat and asked, "Miss, I'd like to say you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I'd like to take you to your favorite restaurant." Jamie became flustered saying, "You can write your number down." Unfortunately, neither had a pen. And so, Michael took it upon himself to get Jamie's number into his phone. Jamie gave Mike her number, and the rest is history...
