Our story starts in the Spring of 2018 when we both found ourselves working at HubSpot, a company based in Boston. Mary born and raised and currently living in Boston, and Matt was in town from Roseville, California for training workshops. April 30th, 2018, Mary was on her way to take a SoulCycle class when a friend called her and invited her to have drinks and apps at a local Mexican restaurant. Realizing the restaurant was the obvious choice, she redirected her Uber and walked into the bar to find Matt sitting there, chatting with her friends and entertaining the crowd. After a night of chatting and several tequilas later, Matt somehow convinced Mary to fly out to California to visit 2 weeks later. She nearly talked herself out of the visit but ended up visiting and enjoying 3 amazing days exploring Petaluma. For the next 9 months, we developed a long-distance relationship, meeting each other in different cities all over. Our travels took us to Mexico, Murphys, California, Lake Tahoe, Park City, and eventually Denver in November 2018. After one visit, we decided to move to Denver together in February 2019 and officially become non-long-distance. We took the move as an adventure, and have spent the last few years soaking in all Denver has to offer, from the mountains, to the craft beer and restaurant scene. Along the way we've learned how to communicate, be great partners, and laugh together every single day. Many trips, long conversations, and a mortgage later, we embarked on our greatest adventure yet and officially got engaged on August 20, 2021 while wine tasting in Murphy's California. Why Mexico? We've visited Mexico 4x as a couple, and each time we grow a deeper appreciation for the culture, the local food, and the people around us. Mexico is our escape from our hectic schedules and where we feel most relaxed. We want you as our guests to feel like you're on vacation attending a great party. We can't wait to host you!
