Things To Do

Come and make a trip of it! Here are some of our favorite things to do in the area!
The Newport Cliff Walk

The Newport Cliff Walk

Cliff Walk, Newport, RI 02840

This is a path right on the side of the ocean. The views of the ocean are beautiful as well as some of the Newport Mansions that you pass by.

The Newport Mansions (The Elms)

The Newport Mansions (The Elms)

367 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI 02840
, (401) 842-0546

There a several beautiful mansions to tour in Newport. The one linked here is the Elms which is Courtney's favorite mansion, but there are many other mansions to tour down in Newport as well!

Fort Adams State Park

Fort Adams State Park

Fort Adams State Park, Newport, RI 02840

Fort Adams is an old military base that you can tour down in Newport. You get to enjoy the views of the ocean while also getting to learn about some military history. Courtney's mother even works in the gift shop there!

International Tennis Hall of Fame

International Tennis Hall of Fame

194 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI 02840
, (401) 849-3990

Neither Courtney nor Jon are really tennis fans...but Courtney's close family friends the Hesketts are and they loved visiting the National Tennis Hall of Fame. Maybe you will too!

Narragansett Town Beach

Narragansett Town Beach

39 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI 02882
, (401) 783-6430

A little pricy (10$ a person, cash only) but by far the best beach in Rhode Island. The sand is soft and there is multiple Del's stands on location! (Del's is a must have frozen lemonade only found in Rhode Island!) Also if you were looking for a late afternoon swim or walk on the beach, the beach is free after 5pm!

Brickley's Homemade Ice Cream

Brickley's Homemade Ice Cream

921 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett, RI 02882
, (401) 789-1784

Brickley's homemade ice cream is by far the best! A trip to Rhode Island is just not complete without it (and some Del's lemonade of course)!

Thames Street

Thames Street

Thames Street, Newport, RI 02840

Thames street right in downtown Newport is the hot ticket spot for some shopping and eating. Thames street is lined with unique stores and its right on the harbor! Diva is Courtney's all time favorite dress store, while Jon always likes yo try a new exotic meat from the jerky shop!

Sightsailing of Newport

Sightsailing of Newport

32 Bowens Wharf, Newport, RI 02840
, (401) 849-3333

Right near Thames Street you could choose to go out sailing for the day. This can be a little pricier but definitely a fantastic a Newport adventure!

Brenton Point State Park

Brenton Point State Park

Ocean Drive, Newport, RI 02840
, (401) 849-4562

Brenton Point State is a large park right on the cost with beautiful views of the ocean. Here you can enjoy picnicking, hiking, fishing, or just relaxing with the cool breezes.

Block Island

Block Island

New Shoreham, RI 02807

Block island is a small island just off the cost of RI. Take a ferry over and visit for the day and you can explore the beaches, climb the Mohegan bluffs (if you want a work out!), visit the light houses, eat and shop! Ferry link: https://www.blockislandferry.com/
