Thanks to Winona State's Easter Keg Hunt, Megan and Evan were able to meet and begin their story. It all started at the Red Men's Club when Evan bravely approached Megan and introduced himself only to get (basically) turned down. Evan called a full timeout, regrouped, and wound up meeting up with Megan later in the day and began getting to know each other along with continuing to bar hop. The rest is history. At the time, Evan was living in Grand Marais, MN (50 miles south of Canada) so they spent two months FaceTiming each other and met up once in the cities at a Minnesota Twins game and bonded over nachos and our love for sports for their first official date. Upon Evan moving back to Rochester, they were able to go on a few more dates before making their relationship official. Evan and Megan have been dating for almost two years and have since purchased their first home together in Byron, Minnesota (Evan's hometown).
December 8th, 2018, was a day full of surprises. Megan's Mom (Dawn), Dad (Norm), and sister (Lindsay) made the trip up to Minnesota from Illinois to surprise Megan. As our doorbell rang, Megan answered the door with her family standing at the door. Megan and her confusion asked why her family was standing at our front door. Little did she know that Evan was down on one knee behind her ready to propose. Luckily for Evan, Megan did not turn him down! After the proposal, we along with our families went to our favorite restaurant, Osaka for a celebratory lunch. As the night rolled around, Megan was supposed to have a girls night in a pretend "Bachelorette Party", but Evan decided to turn her party into an engagement party. At 6 o'clock, the doorbell rang with Megan expecting her friends to walk through the door for their party. Instead, around 30-40 of Megan's friends and co-workers marched through the door and the look on Megan's face was priceless!
