The dress code for our wedding is formal cocktail attire. According to our parish: "Out of respect for Our Lord Jesus Christ and for the edification of our neighbor, we beg all to appear in Church attired in decent deportment and modest dress... furthermore, according to apostolic custom or Church law, gentlemen are bareheaded in church, and ladies are requested to cover their heads." In respect of this, we ask that any ladies with low-cut or sleeveless dresses wear a shawl or other form of cover-up to the ceremony and that skirts reach at or below the knee. For more information on ladies' head coverings: https://www.veilsbylily.com/frequently-asked-questions/ (headcovers are not required at the reception)
We ask that both men and women avoid white or off-white. We also ask that men avoid pairing a navy blue suit and a dark green tie and women avoid long dark green dresses to differentiate themselves from the wedding party.
