3 months in the Friend Zone. We met in college in October, 2012 at Roger Williams University. We quickly and easily became very good friends. However, many efforts were made by Anders to work his way out of the friend zone. He eventually succeeded after much persistence. The freshman boy charmed the sophomore girl. 2.5 years in dating college. After I asked Anders to be my boyfriend in March, 2013, our long distance abilities were quickly tested. We spent that summer living a 5 hour drive away from each other, and then I studied abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy only a few months into our relationship. We passed the long distance test with flying colors- Thank God for Skype. Our relationship grew through our years in college together with the many meals shared at the Commons, the all-nighters studying at GHH, the countless parties at New Rez, the chill nights at Garfield, and the many many friendships we made along the way. 5 years in a long distance relationship. I graduated from RWU in 2015, and now it was Anders' turn to study abroad. He ventured off to Valparaiso, Chile for the first half of his senior year. Meanwhile, I moved back home to New Rochelle, NY, started working and applied to grad school. After finishing his senior year at RWU, Anders graduated and moved home to Stowe, VT. He then began his career at the Lodge at Spruce Peak. First in F&B, then working his way to become the Marketing and PR manager, and on site photographer and content creator. I began grad school at Hunter College, moved to NYC, and started my career as a School Counselor. We made things work. We celebrated our accomplishments, talked about our future together, and each spent many hours in the car... many, MANY hours in the car. We grew as individuals, as adults, and as a couple. The pandemic hit in 2020, LITERALLY the day we were celebrating our 7 year anniversary in the hotspot of New Rochelle. We spent the next few months not being able to see each other. We knew we NEVER wanted to do that again, so we got a move-on on moving-in together. 4 years living together in Stowe, VT. Our first apartment! We moved into our apartment and quickly made it our home. Since then we've shared countless home cooked meals, laps on the mountain, mugs at the Matterhorn, rounds of Catan, trips near and far, visits with friends and family, and lots of laughs and love. We got engaged on January, 15, 2023 at the top of Mount Mansfield, and celebrated 11 years together in March, 2024. We've been through so much together, and cannot wait to celebrate our next chapter with all of you!!
