We took a vacation to Asheville, NC in October 2022. While we were there, we decided to take a hike, and chose a trail that would take us down to Douglas Falls, and Montgomery planned to propose once we got to the falls. Unfortunately, we were extremely unprepared for the realities of a 7-mile hike with 2,200 feet of elevation change in the mountains. We set out with 1 small water bottle and no snacks, thinking everything would be fine. Turns out, it was not fine. We got to the falls, and Montgomery determined that now was not the time to propose, considering Ashley was having a breakdown due to exhaustion, dehydration, and the fear that we would never get back up to where the trail started. Fortunately, 6 hours after we set out, we did make it back. Montgomery proposed to an exhausted and completely clueless Ashley that night on the balcony of our Airbnb. Maybe it didn't quite go as planned, but of course Ashley said yes! The next day, Montgomery took Ashley to the Biltmore Estate where we enjoyed a delicious wine tasting, lovely scenery, and a romantic engagement photoshoot.

We first met at Topsail High school in marching band.

We love to garden, take walks on the beach, and watch movies and shows together.

Our trip to Asheville was memorable for obvious reasons, but we also took a fun trip to New York City! We walked many miles, ate all the food, and saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.

Travel to Japan! And various places in Europe. Just traveling generally.
