If you're coming with a family, we recommend booking one of the cabins at Yokum's! This will ensure the motel rooms and smaller occupancy options remain open for couples/solo travelers. It will also give you access to a gift shop, restaurant, small market, and awesome recreational activities!
The exact timeline of the day is still TBD, but guests should plan to arrive at the venue no later than 1 pm on Saturday. We highly recommend arriving Friday night so you can enjoy the morning! This will also ensure everyone is able to arrive, park and get acquainted with the grounds prior to the ceremony.
Circleville (the town nearest to Spruce Knob) is about a 3 hour drive from Washington Dulles (IAD) airport, and about a 3.5 hour drive from the Pittsburgh (PIT) airport. It's roughly 8-10 hours driving from Chicago, Rochester, New York City, and Boston. You will need a car to get to the location. If you're interested in car pooling with other folks in your area, shoot us an email and we can help coordinate! Please note that there are 2.5 miles of gravel road before the Center with some bumps and potholes. We did it fine in a Toyota Corolla but an SUV or truck would be best if you have one.
Because we can! Just kidding. Forrest grew up in West Virginia and spent many summers at this very location at summer camp. The Center is now dedicated to conservation and community engagement, and is also *really* pretty. We think you'll love it and appreciate your effort in getting here!
No! We aren't doing any paper invites - please RSVP at the RSVP tab as soon as possible! :)
That is correct! Anyone interested in camping at SKELC is welcome to bring their gear and spend the night, free of charge! There is a separate meadow that can fit several tents. You'd have access to a shared bath house (shower, sinks, toilets). The wedding party and immediate family of Molly + Forrest will be staying in yurts and bunk houses on the premises too, so camping will ensure you don't miss a second of festivities :)
Due to our large guest list and limitations of the venue, we unfortunately can't give everyone a plus one right away. If you were given a plus one, there will be a space to enter the name of your guest on the RSVP form. Depending on how RSVPs come in, space might open up and we will let you know as soon as possible if that's the case. Thx for understanding xoxo.
We encourage you to wear your finest duds while keeping in mind you'll be traversing country terrain and will need layers for night time. Fabulous coats, sensible shoes, and organic fabrics / colors / patterns are encouraged but not required. September is the driest month in West Virginia, but you should probably prepare for some precipitation just in case. There will be places to store coats and such if you don't end up using all of your layers.
18 Woodlands Way Circleville, WV 26804. This will take you to the business office of Experience Learning, and the ceremony / reception site is another ~5 minutes up a bumpy road from there. We will share step by step driving directions in a few months. For more info visit their website at https://experience-learning.org/visitor-information/visit/
