Eric and Caroline were set up on a blind date by their friend who had been patiently waiting to set up Eric with his perfect match. Caroline was told about how kind and sweet Eric was, so she got his number! They talked for about a week over text, and then Eric asked if they'd like to go on a date. Eric showed up to pick up Caroline with a fresh haircut, a button down striped shirt, beautiful flowers, and a cleaned out car (at the time, Caroline didn't know that it was a big deal for Eric to clean out his car lol). They went to dinner in Santa Cruz, talked until the restaurant closed, and from there, the two never stopped spending time together!

Eric and Caroline went to see her family for a week long trip at their lake house in New Albany, Mississippi. As a born and raised Californian, Eric had no idea what he was in for with the humidity and blaring hot summer weather. It was quite the shock! Caroline had a sneaking suspicion that Eric was going to talk with her parents about their hopes to get married someday. Little did she know, he also had the ring and was planning to propose. Caroline and Eric, who love to go fishing together, went out onto the dock on Sunday evening when the sun had just set. Caroline went to put some bait on her hook, and Eric stated, "Wait! You should try this bait instead." When she looked over, he had the ring! Caroline had a literal worm in her hands but of course put it down and said "YES!"
