We met our junior year of college on February 19, 2021 at the end of the great Texas freeze. After learning that our pipes were going to be shut off for repair, my roommate/bestie Ana suggested that we go hang out at her friend Liam's house. Mitch and I were then introduced and quickly learned that we had actually been in three classes together without knowing it. We hit it off pretty quickly and chatted most of the day. After returning home, I followed him on Instagram and before I knew it I had a DM from him asking me out to lunch. Our first date was at Rodeo Goat where we stayed for THREE hours. Needless to say, my roommates were worried about me. A couple days later, we went on a coffee date to Summer Moon and shut the place down. We eventually had the ~define the relationship~ conversation on a walk, and became official on March 29, 2021.

Mitch proposed to Raquel on Friday April 14, 2023 under the ruse that they were going to a rehearsal dinner prior to his co-worker's wedding the next day. Before heading to Dallas, Mitch claimed that he had to go pick up his wallet from his parents' house. In reality, there was never a rehearsal dinner, and when they pulled into the neighborhood, Mitch took Raquel to a gazebo decorated with flowers where he would then pop the question! After saying yes and taking some cute photos, they went over to his parents' house where all of their friends and family were waiting to celebrate their engagement. Raquel was very impressed by Mitch's thoughtfulness and thoroughness of the whole day - every little detail had been planned over several months. It was a very special day and one that they will not soon forget!
