Mitchell and Dana first met in lower school, but really became friends during middle school at Beth Tfiloh. During this time they hung out while doing the musicals as well as around school. They spent one year at camp together at Capital Camps where they were nearly inseparable, so much so that, after much teasing, Mitchell felt the need to prove they were JUST FRIENDS by squeezing an orange on Dana's head while walking up the Riech hill. Middle school boys, man!

They remained good friends all through high school, hanging out while in Acapella practice, lounging around the arts department and outside of school with mutual friends. Mitchell's junior year, after his first two promposals ended with a yes...oh wait I actually can't...he decided to ask Dana to prom by serenading her with the classic Jason Mraz "I'm Yours." They had an absolute blast on their purely platonic prom date tearing up the dance floor and racking up all the tickets at Dave and Busters. To this day Mitchell insists that was their first official date, and he was just "letting it marinate" for the next 8 years.

Luckily for the two of them, Mitchell found himself at University of Miami with Ellie, allowing the two to keep their friendship alive. Dana visited Ellie each semester, and ~nearly~ always remembered to reach out to Mitchell to hang out. They spent countless hours at the Rat and Starbucks catching up on college life. Mitchell found himself visiting New Orleans on his senior spring break, when he reached out to see if Dana wanted to come hang. Unfortunately, even then she was a grandma and could not fathem going down town to drink on Bourbon street on a weekday night.

In the fall of 2019 Mitchell and Dana both found themself in New York City, where they set up their first real date, which wasn't really a date, but if it went well could have been a date... its still unclear. Within a week, they found themselves talking nonstop and decided to make it official! They spent the majority of the year in a long distance relationship between the Lower East Side and the Upper West side, what a schlep. It was quickly evident that this was the real deal, so when the world shut down in March 2020 it didn't seem that crazy for Mitchell to move to Hershey, PA with Dana while she started medical school. Fast forward 3 years and we end up in California, a trip originally planned for March 2020 as their first couples vacation...

Mitchell accompanied Dana to an Otolaryngology conference in San Diego, after which they were planning a week long vacation in LA. Although Mitchell had originally planned to propose in Malibu, he found he just couldn't wait another day... and decided to pop the question between the morning and afternoon sessions on the beach at the beautiful Hotel Coronado in San Diego. Dana OBVIOUSLY said yes, and they were able to spend the next week in LA celebrating their engagement.
