It all started with the "Right" Swipe. We met online, on the dating app Bumble, during Covid. We matched 5 times over a 6 month period. Abi was playing hard to get clearly. On the 5th match we finally agreed to have a date and because of the lock down and how it slowed aviation down, we had plenty of time. One date was all it took to know we'd both found the one. Our first lockdown date was at Mitchell's apartment in Northville. We had pizza and watched 10 minutes of a movie. We talked through the entire thing. Still to this day, I can't remember the movie. The day after our first date, Mitchell reached out and ended up coming over to my condo and painting my bedroom with me. He's excellent at house painting if anyone needs any help! :) He came over several times over the next couple of weeks and painted another bedroom, my living room, kitchen, and then dining room. He helped put all the new lights up and went shopping with me to help me decide on furniture. I should have picked up on it sooner, but this man was helping me paint and pick everything out knowing his butt was moving in with me one day. We both had found the one we wanted to spend forever with.
On a beautiful family vacation in Treasure Island FL, with the Klima family, Mitchell took a knee on the beach at sunset. Weeks before the proposal my mom Karen scheduled family photos on the beach that we do almost every year. We had a color palette to wear and my nails were freshly done. She invited my grandparents, my aunt/uncle (godparents),cousins, and my sisters in-laws for our family photo session. On our way to Florida it was very stressful as the "Great Blizzard of 2022" hit and cancelled thousands of flights (RIP Southwest). I headed straight to Florida two days before Mitchell as I got stranded in ATL and couldn't make it back home. The night before he was to fly to Tampa I was up every hour checking that jump-seat to make sure it was still open and he was going to make it to family photos on time. Little did I know, Mitchell had bought a ticket 2 weeks prior to guarantee he'd get on the flight, as long as it didn't cancel. He didn't tell me this, so of course I was stressed and didn't sleep much the night before he was flying down. I was too tired to get him from the airport so my dad went to pick him up. I was stressing out but he made it. At sunset we went down to the beach to start the photoshoot. Mitchell waited till the very end to ask me to marry him. The sun was setting, we were getting closer to the freezing water, but surrounded by my family. he asked me to marry him. and I said yes! The moment was captured on video from family and the photographer. Made for some gorgeous photos and some wonderful memories. We are truly blessed to have families that helped plan this special moment for us.
