If you ask Matthew on my 11th birthday my wish was for me to find my prince charming and that is when he was born! (he is such a romantic). We worked together and always got along and had the same sense of humor. (we translated an English bagline check sheet to Spanish that lasted 6 hours and had each other cracking up the whole time). The spark was there we just needed to realize it. It took some time and some space (Matt left the company we worked at) but the universe brought us together and the rest is history!

Our first family camping trip along with two close friends (Jon and Krystal) at Sleepy Creek Lake in West Virginia. We all decided to go kayaking. I took Jesslynn and Tyler over on the other side to go swimming and the rest of the group (including Matt and Nathan) stayed at the boat ramp to get the kayaks in the water and come over to our side. Matt and the boys kayaked for a bit and then Matt asked me to please take a turn around the lake with him. So there we were, me in my kayak and him in his just paddling around the lake. As we are headed to the side to meet up with our friends and kids I hear Jon playing our song "I was born to love you" by Lanco. Of course I smile and turn to look at Matt who is right beside me. He smiles and says, "Misty you are my best friend". At that part we are both emotional, I can not stop smiling, I am in total shock. We have our kids, the most beautiful background of the mountains and lake, our song playing and close friends there to witness this moment. Matthew looks at me and says those words I have been longing to hear, "Misty will you marry me?" Without hesitation I say YES!!!!!!! He slips this gorgeous ring onto my finger, I get out of my kayak and we kiss (what dreams are made of)
