The first time I saw her, I was walking to an event in the rain and I instantly stopped and asked her to walk with me. We joined the same fraternity and started spending more time together. I went to one of their events and when I turned around, Javin was sitting right behind me in a black suit. I instantly fell for him, but I was too shy to say hi. So the next time I saw him and he asked me to walk with him, I obviously said yes. Then he started surprising me with my favorite cookies and I knew he was the one. Our proposal story was imperfectly perfect. After Javin told me all the ways it could've gone wrong, I don't know how he stayed so calm. While his bag went through TSA checking, one of the workers yelled "Someone's getting married!" Luckily, I'm always in my own world and didn't hear him. When we were about to land, it was pouring. So Javin started talking about how he always wanted to do a photoshoot in the rain. Thinking nothing of it, I agreed since I had recently seen one on TikTok and he thought to himself "Thank God because we're about to have one!" Once we got to the airport in Italy, we had to get a new rental car because the one we had was a stick shift. We finally got to the hotel and Javin said I had an hour to get ready for our dinner reservations. It was still raining as we got closer to our destination, but once we got there it stopped. He said we were going to walk The Melzi Gardens before dinner. I noticed a guy walking in front of us who kept looking back at us, so I didn't think twice when Javin pulled me into the Moorish pavilion. He got down on one knee and asked "Mirella Giovanna Arias-Rios, quieres cantarte conmigo?" (which means if I want to sing with him.) Turns out the man was our amazing photographer and the last hour he took our engagement pictures, the rain went away! I couldn't have asked for a more amazing proposal, Javin listened to every thing I hinted at for 7 years! And yes, I made Javin ask correctly afterwards.
